I tried the treatment Permanent Blowout with Infinity Cleanse and Keratin Masque: Php4950 at Design Studio Salon. It's a discounted rate from DealGrocer. Although DealGrocer claims it's originally 14k, salon staff said it's regularly priced around 7k. So it's still a good deal. Plus, the salon was great! Clean, sophisticated, uncluttered, and staff were super nice and knowledgeable.
Salon's receiving counter.
Comfy black sofa for waiting.
Amply spaced client chairs, with individual tall mirrors, and low tables available to be pulled next to you for your things, or when they serve you beverages.
Foot Treatment Area
Hair Rinsing Area. Very comfortable, chairs were soft and would recline almost horizontally.
Complimentary berry tea. They also offered coffee, and water. Fashion mags available.
Hair Assessment: I wasn't allowed to take the treatment immediately. They did a strand test for my hair, and it failed big time. My hair was weak due to past, harsh treatments. I was advised to get the Olaplex treatment which would strengthen my hair. Olaplex: Php3000 for shoulder-length hair.
Hair after Olaplex.
They made it clear that there'd be no visible change in my hair, except for it being stronger. Which was actually true. Almost no hair fall during showers, yey!
I was asked to return 1 week after Olaplex to finally have my Permanent Blowout Treatment.
Hair before Permanent Blowout
Permanent Blowout result, just after drying.

Permanent Blowout (3-4hours):

  • 5-mins Infinity Cleanse
  • 20-mins Cream Soak
  • Rinse
  • Iron
  • 10-mins Cream Soak
  • Rinse
  • 150mins Keratin Treatment Soak
  • Rinse
  • Blowdry
After 3 days
After 2 weeks
11 weeks after (almost 3 months)
 After 5 months
After 6 months

Remarks:
  • All in all, my experience in the salon was great. But let's face it, hair would re-grow and those would be skewed, wavy, and needs attention again.
  • The Blowout was good for 3-4 months, no maintenance or blow-dry needed. Worked as wash-and-wear.
  • I was advised to have Olaplex each time I get my hair coloured, as any hair treatment contributes to its weakness. I hope I could follow up on that, but not all salons offer Olaplex.
  • Anyway, I found a new treatment service I would probably use more. Bench Fix's Hair Relax: Php2500 (medium-length hair) took only 2-3hrs, no iron, and the end result was same, similar to rebond, or permanent blowout. Not sure yet how many months it would last, but advisable to get every 6 months. I'll post a review for it soon.

Styluxe Salon at The Fort BGC area is located at The Plaza in Arya Residences. It has glass walls, which makes it inviting, and allows guests to see the modern, crisp interiors as they arrive. The front desk was to the left, and staff was friendly. I had a reservation so I was instantly led to the upper level, where my stylist's spot was. I got their Haircut (any length) by Lead Stylist Php390 from Dealgrocer (Php650 regular price, eventhough Dealgrocer would say it's worth Php850).
The ground floor was roomy, despite the limited space. It's clean and mostly has functional items in place.
The upper floor has the hair treatment chairs, rinse area, storage room, and comfort room.
Comfy rinsing chairs.
Individual chairs with ample spaces in between.

Remarks:
  • I was given a nice robe which I wore the whole service.
  • Tea, coffee, and iced tea were also offered.
  • I should say, my stylist did a great job. I showed him a photo of a haircut I like. After my cut, I thought it only looked good because it was blow dried, but it actually stayed on for weeks, after numerous washing and air-drying (until it grew longer).

PrettyLooks have a new branch in Uptown Parade Mall in BGC. Located at the 2nd floor, next to rows of other beauty clinics and aesthetic spas, PrettyLooks' warm interiors offer a welcoming, princess-y, bright feel. I opted to get their Permanent Lip Tint or Lip Tattoo promo for only Php2999 per session. Regular price, as of date, is Php15,000 for 2 sessions (according to their BGC staff), and that's for a Junior Artist to do your lips. For Senior Artist, it goes for Php20-30k for 2 sessions.

A sleek receiving area is peppered with lavish furnishings and accent lighting.
Clean and orderly hallways leading to individual rooms for services.
Room for Lip Tattoo. Cool (because of AC), not too bright, and still charming, even with the needles and tissues.
First, topical anaesthesia was applied. It's yellowish this time, unlike before when it was white. Remember to ask for full coverage. Any spot missed can trigger pain once tinting starts. I think we had to wait about 30minutes for the anaesthesia to set before the session.
They asked me for the color or tint I like. Since this would be my 3rd or possibly 4th lip tint, I chose the same color as before.
Slightly plump lips after the session. The anaesthesia did miss some parts of my lips, and these areas didn't go numb. My tattoo artist had to re-apply the anaesthesia several times in different spots just so we could finish. I wouldn't have minded an injection if it would numb my whole damn face. Better to feel nothing at all.
I was prescribed Clinovir, priced Php400. You can buy at the front desk.
Post Healing Process for Lip Tint
Lips after two days when the swelling went down. It would still peel for about 3 weeks before the final color would set.

Remarks:
  • When it comes to lip tattoo, I only trust PrettyLooks. Their expertise speaks volumes, and I've tried and tested their services many times.
  • Even when their packages and prices have gone up, they continuously offer promos now and then. My first lip tint was priced Php999 per session. Inflation beats us all. Good thing PrettyLooks' results still delivers.

I decided to try Bench Fix Salon's Kerastase treatment. It's pricey, but the salon itself was super nice and gorgeous. Staff were ok. The one who attended to me was friendly, so I had a good experience. Located at 2nd Level, Greenbelt 3, this branch was very serene. Perhaps because there were few clients at the time. Interiors were reflective, from the floors to numerous mirrors. It was airy and spacious, plus the white and off white walls produce a clean backdrop.

I was immediately offered a chair to get my hair assessed. They asked about my hair preferences, I told them about my hair plans - like color, other treatments. I was advised to get the Kerastase Liss Ritual - Oleo Relax Masque: Php1500 for short hair.
My hair was washed in their rinsing station. It was pleasantly designed, perfect lighting, huge wall mirror. I love that they have warm water for shampooing.
Treatment was applied to my hair, soaked for about 30mins under heat.
Rinse and blow dry came next. The whole process took about an hour. The effect should include soft, tangle-free hair, which was supposed to last a month. It lasted about a week or less. Still, my hair was a rebel. It would probably take more than 1 treatment to tame it.

I decided to try Skin Philosophie when I suddenly had a massive, troubling acne spread across my face. According to the clinics I've visited, it's a result of stupid stress, dirt, product allergic reactions, hormonal imbalance, and again, unnecessary stress. Ha! And it was a good thing I was feeling numb the whole time, existing in a state of indifference, figuring out what the hell happened, and what I should become of it. Still, nothing lasts forever. Even my acne calmed down somehow, but not exactly with the help of Skin Philosophie, unfortunately.
I started coming in for their "no-prick, injection-only" service. I think it was 10 injections for Php1000, but they always give a 20% discount if you pay cash, so I only paid Php800. For 6 injections, it's Php600. They will give you 50% if you acquire other treatments or services, like basic facial.
The injections were for active pimples. It will reduce the size and swell, and some were actually completely flatten. This would eliminate any scarring, which is common during the few days after a regular facial, due to pricking.
Facilities and rooms were sanitary, with a spa-feel. Staff were super friendly. Although I never got to consult with Dra. Kyla in the several times I've been there. I was always assigned to one of the nurses, who were really kind and professional too.
I also tried their Anti-Acne Peel with Basic FacialPhp1120. Their Basic Facial alone is Php650. It starts off with facial cleaning, then application of the anti-acne solution. It was supposed to peel and aid with the acne-infested top layer of the face.
The thing I didn't like much was the facial itself. They did use a really awesome equipment that's like a mini scalpel. It's painless and just goes through the skin smoothly, taking all the blackheads and whiteheads. Only the person who facilitated my service wasn't the best one for it. I noticed, because she wasn't thoroughly sterile with her process. She would wipe the blackheads/ whiteheads with the same cotton over and over. I felt uneasy. She told me she was actually the clinic's masseuse, and was just recently trained to do facials. She used to do body and foot massages. Anyway, that was it for me. I never came back.
 Clean comfort room.
The elevator opens to the clinic at the 3rd level.

Remarks:
  • Skin Philosophie is a thriving beauty clinic. They have well-researched treatments and valuable services. They always give a free touch-ups for up to 1 week after your session. This includes free injections for new active pimples.
  • I like how they reward clients with a 20% discount for cash payments. That's actually pretty big savings.
  • I'm not sure if I'll be back for their injections, as I like to pretend to be brave and prefer pricking nowadays. It doesn't hurt, and the scars heal easily anyway. My current derma told me that injections should be the last resort, and a temporary solution. Most injected pimples do not really disappear, thus still need to be completely removed (by pricking).
  • Anyway, each clinic has its own way, and clients can choose which one they'd believe in. It is, after all, our faces on the line.

Creations by Lourd Ramos Salon in Greenfield District is a modern, quasi-chaotic, with Victorian laced mirrors, and area-separating dividers. They make use of the irregular shape of their unit. Upon entry, the staff welcomed me and immediately gave me a spot. I was the only guest at the time.
I came for their discounted promo from Deal Grocer: Repair Damaged Hair with Olaplex Mini Treatment for Php1125. It was supposedly originally priced at Php2100 (according to Deal Grocer), but staff told me it regularly costs around Php1400.
The process started with a proper hair wash. The treatment cream was then applied to my hair, along with a short, relaxing head massage.
Hair rinsing area.
I was offered water or tea but I declined as I was still full from lunch.
I was applied with Olaplex #2, which was the foam type.

Mini Olaplex Treatment: (duration: approx. 1hr)

  1. shampoo
  2. olaplex application with 5-minute head massage
  3. soak (30 minutes)
  4. rinse
  5. blow dry
Remarks:
  • As for the effect, you would not see anything different aesthetically. Olaplex is designed to make hair stronger and healthier, not shinier or straighter.
  • After shampooing at home, I noticed there were reduced hair breakage. I used to have clumps of hairfall during shower, a result of badly damaged hair from treatments by cheap salons.
  • Anyway, I went to another reputable salon, Design Studio Salon in Greenbelt. The staff told me that Olaplex #2 will not do much improvement to my hair. I need to use #1 and #2 to experience Olaplex's effective promise of stronger hair. And I might just try that. Their cost for Olaplex 1&2 stand-alone/add-on treatment: Php1700.
