Sol Gelato, Fort Bonifacio

Sol Gelato, The Piazza at Mckinley Hills, Fort Bonifacio

The journey to The Piazza is long and winding. Sol Gelato's place is small but bright. A few tables (like 3) inside the shoppe, and a couple more outside for ice cream lovers. The staff is friendly and very nice.
Parking in The Piazza is a headache with sloping grounds and pointy corners. Or maybe I'm just not that great a driver.

We went there especially for the 'brandy snap' alone. After having a taste of the carpaccio in Firelake Grill, we never got it out of our heads. The Al Forno Cakes were not available at the time we visited Sol Gelato, and we opted to try the largest cone serving instead. Supposedly there is a waffle inserted inside the cone, but the staff exchanged it for a brandy snap instead. Great personalized service!

The biggest cone costs Php160, with 3 scoops. Gelato flavors range from Hazelnut, Pistachio, Strawberry, Ferrero, Mint, Pineapple Rhum and a few others. They also give free tastes of any ice cream flavor you want to try! The cones are not dripping sweet. It's a little on the bland side but mixes well with the flavorful gelatos. Unfortunately, the brandy snap was nothing like the one in the carpaccio in Firelake Grill (Tagaytay). Guess we had to hike up to Cliffhouse each time we need some brandy snap fix.
