The road from Calamba to Pansol is full of hot spring resorts, and choosing the best one which fits your needs is quite tricky. Golden Star Hot Spring Resort is one of those moderately sized resorts, and one which can be easily rented as a whole. There are bigger resorts which have Olympic sized pools but have a quite impersonal feel, and more of a commercial hub. Even corporate events who accommodate these large resorts can barely occupy the whole area.
Reaching Golden Star requires a map. Many people got lost as the road is only parallel to the main road. Before the archway of Pansol, or upon reaching the 88 Hot Spring Resort, means that you have passed the small side road going to Golden Star. Upon entry to the resort, there is a small parking area which could cram around maybe up to 10 vehicles. Stairs will immediately lead guests to the big pool on the right and kiddie pool on left, and huts and seating areas all around.
Water is hot spring all throughout. There is a 3-storey building with rooms up to the 2nd floor, and a covered roof top on the 3rd. About 8 available rooms for overnighters can be rented, or maybe even for day trippers. There are open shower areas and also common toilet and bath stalls in the resort.
Part of the swimming pool is covered, as there is also a basketball ring on the side for some pool ball fun. The kiddie pool has a colorful slide. There are trees and plants around the Golden Star Resort, and hopefully ample lights on night time.
ROOMS
The rooms have a single bed, a dresser, aircon, mini lavatory
Each room gets a window with view of the pool. The small toilet/bath is functional. Although no bidet, and a bit on the stinky/humid side, there is a pail and dipper on the side, a shower and commode.
According to the reception area, prices for day trippers are as follows:
Adult: Php60
Children: Php40
Huts: Php500 (depending on size)
