Rivera Hotel

A small hotel along the Tagaytay main road offers an easy breezy stay. The Rivera Hotel is polished, clean, and classically designed with a touch of old charm. From the road, a simple turn brings you to the parking space in front of the hotel. Quick and effortless.
The lobby is not too big, but bright and glossy. The concierge is at the left, with many open seats for guests.
More seating area with a view.
Huge windows provide the sunlight. At night, there are mood lights for some quiet moments.
A dining area is located at the end. We never got to try this because there's no chef that day. But I'm sure it's running now and provides a comfy station for their complimentary breakfasts for hotel guests.
A powder room next to the restaurant continues with the hotel brown-on-white theme.
At night, there are few people on stand-by. Hopefully there will be a full-time guard and concierge available.
Solid stairs with red carpet on landings.
Red carpet on corridor
Flyers we got from the lobby. They still have the same rates about a year ago, which is a good thing! Click to enlarge to see Rivera Hotel Rates >>
Simple door keychain
Huge rooms with modern amenities like flat screen tv, mini fridge, sliding door closet:
Air-conditioning system, even though you seriously don't need it. It's cold enough especially at night. Table and chairs, vanity station.
Bedside phone and a weird Tip Box. I hope they removed this by now.
Water glasses in a clear container. Very sanitary. Beverages for sale inside the fridge.
The bathroom is all white as well.
Complimentary toothbrushes, toothpaste packets, shampoo and soaps.
For the men or hairy ladies, a razor, shaving cream, and lotion packets.
Perfectly hung towels.
All in all, this hotel has got massive potential. Perhaps a little more effort from their staff, although they are friendly enough; and a few more touches to make it warmer or homey.
In terms of the amenities and maintenance, it's already top notch. Clean all around.
I didn't get to try any of their food, so hopefully they serve amazing meals.
They also accept half-day stays when we asked. You can occupy a room for about 4 or 6 hours for lesser price.
