Modern Shanghai

Modern Shanghai in Mall of Asia is a grand restaurant which opens to the 2nd floor veranda overlooking the Manila Bay, while the other end opens to the mall outdoor corridors. It's one big Chinese place.
Modern Shanghai is good with emphasizing the dramatics. The oriental lighting is effectively charming.
The waiters are donned in traditional Chinese attendant's attire.
Table plating. Black chopsticks and gray round plate.
Complimentary house tea (you have to ask for it)
 Beef Soup: Php74
Beef with Broccoli: Php219
Signature Xiao Long Bao: Php198
Golden Pumpkin Cake: Php68
    Shandong Style Shredded Chicken: Php358
    Yang Chow Fried Rice: Php248
Sauteed River Spinach with Minced Pork: Php168
Steamed 'Hakaw' / Shrimp Dumplings: Php208
    • Their xiao long bao was a bit disappointing, I kept spilling the soup inside coz the wrap tears easily. The meat was ok when dipped on the sauce.
    • The pumpkin cake, I decided to have them for take-away. While at home, I put butter and sugar so it won't be bland.
    • The Shredded Chicken was good, serving size is for 1-2 petite persons.
    • Hakaw was filling. The River Spinach had too many stalks and less leaves. I love veggy leaves.
