Moon Cafe

In the beautiful university town of Dumaguete City, restaurants invent, reinvent, and innovate their menus and decors to varying levels. This includes the Mexican-inspired Mooon Cafe. Moon Cafe is located across Siliman University, and gets packed everyday especially on peak hours.
Siliman Avenue is also one of the go-to open areas for street events, including skateboarding shows, music bands, etc..
There is no doubt this is Mexican, like taco colors on the walls. The servers' costumes were also defining.
Half moon on daylight!
Wooden blue-topped dark chairs, and tiled tables. The couches get snagged the first.
Utensils rest on orange table cloths
Iced Tea: Php38
Sopa con Papas: Php45
Molo Soup: Php59
Sun Cooler: Php140 (pitcher)
Blue Marlin: Php179
Tangigue Steak: Php195
Tuna Belly: Php179

Remarks:
  • I would say that their Tuna Belly was the BEST tuna belly I've ever had! Maybe it's just luck or perhaps they've perfected the process of doing the belly, but damn it was sooooo good!
  • Other dishes were ok.
  • My dad and uncle loved the sun cooler - definitely worth a try, and for sharing too!
  • We came and had no reservations evethough it was packed. We got a small table in the middle. Cooking time took quite a bit and other tables cleared up, so we transferred to a double corner table.
  • Staff were ok, not friendly but accommodating.
