Restaurante Pia Y Damaso

One word for Restaurante Pia Y Damaso: Fierce.
To the hungry and curious, look up the meaning of 'subversive' before dining here. The fusion of flavors is not for all.
The tight space is elegant in its own right. Classic, Victorian in a way, with the whimsical chairs and knotting borders on the walls and windows.
I was curious so I took my mom for lunch here. It was quite an interesting meal.
Al fresco dining is available for smokers, or those who prefer a larger breathing room.
Utensils
Absinthe (the real thing) can be found here. Must be the banned Absinthe.
Sweets for dessert.
Tubig ni Maria Clara: Php300
Almond Stuffed Dates Wrapped in Bacon: Php175
Sorry I forgot what this is :(

Remarks:
  • We only sampled a few of their dishes, and for our humble palate, each one was an acquired taste.
  • As the dishes we got appeared more burnt than intended, we didn't exactly enjoy each bite, but the hanging feeling of surprise never left us.
  • I tried to gulp as much Tubig ni Maria as I can. My mom gave up after a few sipsas the taste wasn't to her liking.
  • The Stuffed Bacon has a unique bitter-sweet bite to it, if not too oily, it would've been good.
  • We're probably not coming back anytime soon, if not for the desserts we never got to try. I'm sure its perfect for adventurous mouths, or perhaps it was just a bad day in the kitchen that time.
