Boon Tong Kee

Boon Tong Kee is a Singaporean franchise, spreading its awesome culinary prowess in the metro. The distinct decor has a mix of Chinese and Hainan, which is common to traditional Singaporean restaurants here. The bright red entry certainly attracts attention. Red is energy and aims to fulfill hunger. Intricate details on the dividers and accents on the wall are reminiscent of their cultural art.

Remarks:

• First time we tried Boon Tong Kee in Rockwell, we hated their Boiled Seaweed Soup, which their staff encouraged us to try. It don't know if they made it by mistake at that time or it really was just that awful. Still, we kept coming back because of their pickled vegetables (ha!), which used to be complimentary. Now it's only part of their Rice Bowl Sets. Although in MoA branch, the pickled veggies were always unavailable. 
• The Rice Bowl Set is a life-saver for many. I eat this when I have limited cash (happens a lot). For Php130, you can feed on a full rice meal + soup + iced tea + side dish veggie!
• The Cream Cheese Prawns dish is love. And their Mantao, which they allowed us to order extra.
• Baked Pork Bun was tasty. Not quite comparable to Tim Ho Wan's yet, but really good too.
• Serving size is good to share.
