Hongkong Emperor Seafood Restaurant

Hongkong Emperor Seafood Restaurant, Mall of Asia

With the granddaddy of chandeliers hanging from its majestic ceiling, the Hongkong Emperor Seafood Restaurant glitters in golden sparkles. Round tables with pristine white cloths and upholstered beige seats are strategically positioned. It's got 2 entrances, and gets pretty crowded during weekends.

A few special couch seats are allocated near the glass wall. And they do not discriminate! Even if you are alone, they will place you on the couch, which is good for 4 people. Another glass wall faces the Manila Bay. Tables here get snatched up quickly.

Tables are set with napkins, soup bowls, cups, plates, chopsticks and condiments. Each table is assigned a wait staff, and he/she will watch every sip of tea you make, and then diligently come over to fill it up again. Over and over. Prepare a generous tip.

A lot of tables are reserved, especially the private areas, which look like dining rooms. The sophisticated vibe of the place really makes you feel like you're in China. Add the vast attendance of Chinese diners, it's just like being in another posh resto in Ongpin.

Handy tissues and toothpick holders are on each table.

House tea is complimentary, as well as the plate of nuts.

Shrimp Rice Roll: Php120

Fish Fillet with Broccoli: Php380

Free dessert! We were surprised when right after we paid our bill, the waitress told us there is complimentary dessert. The mango tapioca was sweet and tasted fantastic. Maybe coz it's free. Prices are very fair. You don't feel at all like you're paying for the chandeliers.

As of July 2010, they still have a promo of 20% off on weekdays and 10% off during weekends for cash payments.
