TravelSpeedX: La Guardia Hotel Cebu

La Guardia Hotel is sort of a hidden gem in a dirt mold. On the outside, it's like downtown chaos, but surprisingly decent once you get in. They have this awesome policy that if there's an available room when you arrive earlier than 2PM (but must be later than 4AM) you can get in your room and check-out the next day 12noon, and pay only 1-day rate. We paid Php700 for our stay, checked-in around 7AM and out the next day 12noon.

Rooms are quire big, with complete amenities including TV, A/C, even a fan, en-suite toilet with hot shower, thermos, and soap/shampoo packets. They also use an electric key card and has smoke detectors and sprinklers on the ceiling.

The bathroom is quite clean and functional. No bidet, but it wasn't expected. The hot water is a plus. Free use of towels and a toilet paper roll.

Shower with heater. Roomy too.

Shampoo and soap

Clean corridors. From the outside, the entrance looks like a hole in the wall. But it's obviously a bigger property from the 3rd floor up.

More rooms. There's a an elevator in the building, which is convenient.

Well, this is how scary it appears from the street. La Guardia Hotel could be easily missed if not for a name on top of a small opening. This is along Osmena Road.

Stairs would lead to the small but pleasant hotel lobby. A few steps away is McDonald's (corner Colon-Osmena). Across from it is Metro Gaisano. Nearby establishments include Jollibee, Mercury Drugs. The intersection is filled with traffic police officers who religiously catch jaywalkers. They fine Php50 each.

Near the corner of Sanciangko and Osmena is Yoga Thai Massage with cheap rates and calming interiors. 1hr massage goes for about Php200 with oil and Php150 no oil. Floor mattress for a bed, with curtain dividers, surround-sound relaxing music and strict reservation time. We arrived about 5mins late and they gave our slot to others. We waited 30mins more. It's better if you're alone because if you share a room with your mate, masseuses chat and slack on their work.
