Best Western Hotel Sun Sun in Macau was recommended to us by a friend who frequents the hotel. It passed my hotel checklist of having thick blankets or duvet, hot water, restaurant, and good location. And when in Macau, it's a great help to have Pinoy staff with you. Hotel Sun Sun have tons of Pinoy staff and we had a great experience because of their assistance.
From the airport, we opted for a taxi because we had several bags. We paid MOP120, flag down MOP17, with MOP3 per bag, plus night differential I guess. But if you're traveling light, you can take the Sofitel Hotel Free Shuttle and just walk to Hotel Sun Sun (about 800 meters).
Across the hotel is this nice park, where locals exercise each morning. The building across has a small 7-11, while this road perpendicular to Praca Ponte E Horta is a main road where you can hail cabs. There is also a bus stop in front of 7-11 so it's very convenient if you'd like to try public transport. Bring coins and pay exact amount as buses give no change.
The park sas a low fountain, and pathway similar to Senado Square. There are benches and trees as well. Very well maintained.
The hotel lobby is bright, clean, and friendly. Mostly Chinese staff man the concierge, but I noticed that they're quick to call on Filipino staff when a Pinoy or perhaps other foreigners come, for better communication I guess.
City Dream Room with extra bed: Php5375 per night *breakfast not included
We were informed as we checked-in that the extra bed was a sofa bed. It was ok with me. It included 1 pillow and a duvet. Standard beds get 2 pillows each though. It was still comfortable to sleep in, perhaps because I'm not too big. Sometimes it would tip on the side depending on your weight, so be wary of that.
There were enough electric sockets in the room. You can plug your chargers (220 volts) next to both beds. There was also an extension with 3 sockets - for the fridge, Nespresso, and 1 extra.
Everything was clean and white and lovely. We enjoyed our stay and our room really served as home base while we traveled around the city.
Everything inside the mini fridge was free to consume. Aside from that, we had daily complimentary water.
Nespresso coffee machine with instruction manual
Thermos and 2 cups for tea
Complimentary tea bags, sugar, creamer, and 3 Nespresso capsules
Inside the fridge were 2 bottled water and sodas
These would be the pillows for the sofa bed, if it was used as sofa.
Additional bottled water, slippers, toiletries for the extra bed.
Bathrobes and ample closet space
Hangers
The en-suite bathroom was elegant and modern. Love the all-white walls, gray floor, and wooden shelf. Hair dryer was available.
Shower area. Hot water worked quick.
Complimentary toiletries. These were replaced each day. Even the ones we didn't use, they gave us new shampoo and conditioner, toothbrushes, soap, as well as more towelettes.
Hotel Sun Sun also have a Free Heater Borrow Service. It was winter when we came and it was batshit cold. My parents were shocked with the drop of temperature. We decided to inquire if there was still heater available to borrow and Housekeeping was quick to deliver one in our room. Very good customer service.
The heater was portable and you have to be real close to it to feel warm. And it works! Toasty.
The hotel restaurant is located on Level 1. It has contemporary style and bright interiors.
The view from the restaurant overlooks the park outside.
Light colored chairs and light green table tops reflect even more brightness.
Stairs lead to the Ground Level lobby area.
There were mix Filipino and Chinese staff here. Of course, the Pinoy staff mostly attended to us. They were friendly and offered tips and trivia about Macau and the weather. Quite comforting to have fellow Pinoys around.

Remarks:
- We loved our stay at Hotel Sun Sun. It's centrally located from major tourist spots. We walked from Senado Square to the hotel. Took us longer because my companions were older and we were enjoying the street sights. But basically it's a quick 10-minute walk.
- 7-11 also helped with some necessities like extra water, candies, cellphone top-up cards, noodles, or crackers.
- Taxi can be called from hotel reception, but we just waited by the intersection and hailed cabs.
- Always bring printed photos or logos (with Chinese names) of the places you're going to and show them to the taxi driver. Even popular tourist spots can be misunderstood.
- A nearby cafe, MS Blossom Cafe, offers European feasts, opens noon til dinner.
- Hotel room deposit of MOP 500 is required upon check-in. This will be returned as you check-out.
- The hotel has a pricelist of charges for every item you take or damage in the room, (except the toiletries, slippers, laundry plastic bag - those are complimentary).
- Check-in is 2PM, out is 11AM.
- Housekeeping cleaned our room even when we forgot to hang the 'Clean My Room' sign. Glad they did.
- Room Service is apparently available until 10:30PM, but we never got to try it. There was no Menu inside the room, and ordering thru the Front Desk seemed more of a fuss (with the slight communication gap).
- Definitely recommended!
