Crisostomo: Turn of the Century Filipino Dining

Crisostomo: Turn of the Century Filipino Dining
visited branches: Newport Mall, Nuvali:
Crisostomo is a delicious homage to Jose Rizal and everything historically patriotic.
The old world Filipino glamour of its interiors, down to the local condiments and pastries being sold, Crisostomo will take you back to the elite world of 1890s Manila.
Each of us can surely relate to the 'parol' or Filipino lanterns, as well as the capiz treatment of the windows.
We came around 'brunch' time so it wasn't too crowded. As lunch neared, the place got packed swiftly.
Paintings adorn the walls
Fully stocked cabinets with booze, sweets, and cutlery.
What is Filipino flair without a lechon? This would cost you quite heavily though.

  • Munggo was great, with a neverending fire burning underneath. So it stayed hot from start to finish.
  • The baby squid dish was also comparable to Abe's baby squid, which is the best in town.
  • Servers were fast and attentive.
  • Beverages come in large glasses. Price is waaaay up there, but serving size is for sharing.
  • The overall feel is homey and settling.
