Tyche Boutique Hotel

Tyche Boutique Hotel, Legazpi City:
Tyche Hotel is a really good find. Located right next to Hotel St. Ellis, it's at the corner of Rizal St. and Gen. Forbes, which leads straight to Embarcadero. I often just walk going there. Embarcadero is the newest sea-side mall, with a string of oceanview restaurants, and Puregold supermarket.
Most Legazpi hotels offer free shuttle pick-up from the airport. They won't flash a sign with your name, instead just go to the one carrying your hotel's name. Tyche attendants immediately took my luggage to the large shuttle van and we waited if there's anyone else arriving staying at the hotel.
At the reception I paid for my stay. I got their promo of Php1889/night for Superior Room with free plated breakfast for 2. Regular rate is Php2700/night
From the lobby is a door leading to Kouzina Restaurant. The restaurant also has another entrance facing Real St. for walk-in patrons.
This hotel is immaculately clean in all corners. There's no elevator, so be prepared to take about 3-4 level of stairs, depending on where your room is.
Hotel at night. It is a pretty safe place. A guard is by the entry at all times. Concierge is manned 24/7.
Superior Room has a double bed, cable TV, en-suite bathroom, table + chair, mini ref, complimentary bottled water, coffee & tea sachets (daily).
The spacious room is elegantly decorated with relaxing neutrals, soft lights, and red accents.
Extra pillow in the closet. I asked for a couple more hangers and they instantly obliged.
Thermos for brewing your own hot tea or coffee any time you prefer.
Really nice and modern bathroom. Blow dryer is provided, as well as bath and hand towels.
Rain shower head. It's all good except for their hot water. It took forever to heat up, like maybe 30mins or more. And it stays in a toasty temperature for a couple of minutes only, then turn scalding hot, then cold again. The heartbreak I get each time I took the shower was immense. Anyway, I hope they fix this. It's the only drawback.
Bidet. It's almost perfect really. Toilet rolls were supplied daily.
Also given daily were complimentary soaps and shampoo. Glasses were provided.

The clean floor sparkles with the aesthetic lights. The red chairs against black tables perk up the eyes and appetite of guests.
This is a huge restaurant with reasonable prices. Several patrons are walk-in while some are hotel guests. We opted to eat our meals in our room so I only got to have lunch here once.

Sliced Beef with Ampalaya: Php280 (small)

Chicken Salad Sandwich: Php65

Remarks:
  • As I said, this hotel is close to perfect. Minus the no-elevator, crazy hot water temperature, I would definitely recommend Tyche Hotel.
  • Location-wise, some jeepneys going straight to Daraga pass by Tyche. Took me 1 ride to Cagsawa Ruins. Still, 2 blocks away is the corner of LCC Mall, where practically all jeep routes pass. From here, it's 1 ride to Lignon Hill, Legaspi Terminal, and Albay Zoo, among others.
  • Hotel attendants were very friendly. Always ready with a smile, and to come to our assistance for every request. Everyone was very professional and helpful. They even advised us where we can get a massage, and instructed the tricycle driver to take us there.
  • Even if it's not a 5-star hotel, it certainly acts like one. You pay much less than you get for the great service, affordability and overall experience.
